its a great experience to be scheduled to drum today. haha. i meant playing spontaneously. i felt the band has already started to form some chemistry. for a quite no. of times, i realised the band members can actually hear each other very well. seriously. other than some occasional slips from different ppl, i just feel that what we lack is just another set of good amps, electric guitar and a music co-ordinator and we're ready to get a concert rolling. no joke. the team doesn't have to be professionals in their own instruments. its true that maybe one or two players need to be good but its just co-ordinating with one another that form good music.
its no point hearing the singers singing a tune that was marvellous yet not together with the instruments.
i was really excited when we managed a interlude out of no where literally. again, the idea of having a interlude was borned during the practice session. when everyone was like playing their own staff and it still sounded good. by chance? i doubt so. i believe everyone was hearing each other carefully and using their own technique, put a piece of their own into the band then. the drums turned down, bass and guitar started to get more active, keyboard was giving the band a lead.
and just about when it sounded great, all it takes is a person to give a i-like-this-go-ahead-and-play-it-later sign. its just a part of the music co-ordinator's job. it gives the whole band a direction to go and an idea of how the song will be played particularly that moment/day.
watched ocean 13 with the youths today. haa. a revenge story. a team of ppl <10 managed to screw the hotel-cum-casino up on its 'soft' opening. quite intersting how they do it. brad pitt is hot!
