that rare tattered smile
on that ageing pair of arms folded
which carried the untold weight loaded
these weary feet
you depended on when u ran around simple to feed
that outdated pair of slippers
so worn yet you wear it everywhere simple
that brown shirt
i've been seeing it ever since birth
every breadth you tried to take
was every heave for my sake
that load in your hands
was equally drudging as mine on my pants
yet you walked faster
held stronger
than that person behind you
a third of your age and youth
you were happy it was completed
even though your energy is totally depleted
i found it was not your job
yet your very own joy
soon we got off the bus
and i'm equally soon eating your dust
that smile across your face
accompanied by that growing grey moustache
it would not have been for our sake
and you are the best person that was ever smudged
